Jesus took me to Eden, Puerto Vallarta for my Birthday

Knowing the buses and beaches of the coast is half the battle of going anywhere tropical and awesome. For under ten dollars round trip for the both of us we were able to take buses to all the surrounding local beaches. There are many private and secluded beaches all along the coast of Puerto Vallarta. They are well worth the trip to go see. One of the beaches, for example, Sayulita is popping with surfers, head stands, hippies, and Huichol art.

Due to going during off-season, many restaurants were closed. Advice if you go during off season always call the restaurant you are going to before you go, it may be closed. Because of such happenstances, we met our cab driver who became our mini tour guide (real name Jesus and he took us to a place called Eden) on my birthday! He told us of a place, Eden, where the film Predator was set and they still had some of the costumes from the movie there, the original helicopter, zip lines, and for only 50 pesos (roughly $2.50 USD)  you can swim and hike in waterfalls. The main photo is us in Eden.

It was a wonderfully romantic birthday getaway ending in a sunset dinner, mountain cliffs overlooking the bay, savoring the aromatic flavors of Vista Grill, a highly recommended restaurant. Unique Mexican fusion plated with confidence and finesse. Appetizers like short rib potstickers with mezcal sauce and fish entrees like citrus tuna with hibiscus mole. Taking my favorite "sabores de Mexico" and the rest of the world creating wonderful mouth explosions. Can you tell I love food?!

Another reason I chose this area for my birthday was because of the art and culture flanking the streets of all the remote beaches. Huichol people line up in booths all along the beaches selling their textiles, beadwork jewelry, pottery, and other crafts. I was able to score some beautiful Peacock textiles, soon to be converted into wonderful floor pillows. It brings me a sense of peace to know that my money is going towards sustaining and maintaining cultural arts and awareness.

    Infinite love and gratitude

*Some beaches to go to if you are in the area: Sayulita (as mentioned before), Mismaloya, San Pancho, and Yelapa (requires a ferry but totally worth it!)
