Artisan Market, Lebanese Food, and a Fish Spa... treat yourself.

Part of my way of making money while traveling is buying for stores and designing small things that help maintain cultural arts while remaining sustainable. Today, I was looking for a specific store and got to go through amazing natural dyed Huichol pillowcases and Oaxacan style Zapotec rugs. Walking through the narrow alleyways and small booths one feels truly in another dimension of the city, the older city, and its keepers. How lucky to be able to not only share this space but bring it prosperity while visiting.

Meet Kiba. Our adorable Siberian Husky posing in front of a Huichol textile. Yes, you can have a dog or kid and travel! It's possible and totally worth it! She is super well trained and adored by all.

Remember there is always time for you to give love to yourself in whatever way you feel that truly nurtures you. Today, I decided to finally get my nails done. Looking down at my unfortunate uñas (nails in Spanish) that looked like I was a professional boxer and my scabbed feet from walking these cobblestone streets at least 13,000 steps a day I felt like a more than deserved woman. Sometimes as women, we are so discouraged by the stereotyped woman so much so that we forget its okay to be one from time to time. It is important to me, as a man or woman, to nurture both part of ourselves both masculine and feminine, and today I was pampering myself in my divine femininity.

Here are some of the benefits of a fish spa in Spanish, can you figure out any of these?

There is an amazingly awesome and super afforable fish spa very close to the Jardin in El Centro. Yes, you can get a normal pedicure, and gel, and manicure and they are very thorough and super awesome. However, they have fish that you can have clean your feet before the pedicure and they make your feet soft and have a bunch of other amazing benefits. The place is literally named the Fish Spa and is located on Hidalgo, between Mesones and Insurgentes. For a gel manicure, pedicure, and fish spa I spent $24 with tip!

A little tree, with a little door, with another little door, that I get to pass daily in Guadelupe, an artist village full of families and great local arts and food.

After all of that, I got to eat at a wonderful Lebanese restaurant called Fenesia, located on Ancha de Santonio, and had kafta, fatoush, and perhaps the best baba ghanoush I have ever had. San Miguel has not only many of the flavors of the world but some of the best versions of these delectables ever consumed. Coming from some of the greatest cities known for their food in my life, I consider myself to be quite the foodie. Before, I've lived in Chicago, Paris, San Francisco, San Diego, and Chiang Mai, Thailand. San Miguel is awarded with two thai restaurants and one ran by a woman from Chiang Mai! A city that allows me to close my eyes and let my mouth venture back to my old Thai neighborhood eating noodles from a local market is a wonderful city indeed.

Till mañana,

Infinite love and Gratitude
